Alastair Young

Partner, Prison Law, Solicitor (Nottingham)

Alastair has been a fixture of the Johnson Partnership for over 20 years and a partner since 2009; he was responsible for setting up the Prison law department in 2005 and has been involved in representing prisoners for a number of years in various challenges to the parole board, ministry of Justice and prison service. On a number of occasions he has successfully brought judicial review proceedings in the High Court against these agencies, quashing decisions considered illegal on behalf of clients. His other interests include theatre, current affairs and English literature

Euan Edwards

Euan Edwards

Partner, Solicitor, Head of Prison Law (Nottingham)

Euan joined the firm in 2005 as part of his degree at Nottingham Law School. He worked in the crown court department before qualifying as a solicitor in 2012 dealing in all aspects of criminal law and prison law, for which he is now Head of the Department.

Shannon Barlow

Shannon first joined the firm as a Crown Court caseworker in 2015 and is based in our Nottingham office. Since then Shannon has qualified as a duty solicitor and regularly represents clients at both the Magistrates Court and police stations. She continues to deal with and assist counsel in a number of complex Crown Court cases. Shannon also specialises in and is part of our Prison Law team representing a number of clients before the Parole Board and at adjudications.

Siân joined The Johnson Partnership on 31st October 2016, as Chris Saunders’ assistant, having just graduated with a degree in Law at Nottingham Trent University. She became an accredited Police Station Representative whilst studying for a Masters in Legal Practice, before going on to become a Trainee Solicitor. Siân is now a qualified Solicitor with vast experience representing clients in the Police Station and Magistrates Court. She is also part of the Prison Law team, representing clients for adjudications and in front of the Parole Board.

Kendall Newbold

Kendall Newbold

Solicitor, Prison Law (Nottingham)

Kendall joined the firm in 2018 as a crown court caseworker and is based in our Nottingham office. Since then Kendall has qualified as a duty solicitor and regularly represents clients at the magistrates court and police stations. She continues to deal with and assist counsel in a number of complex Crown Court cases. Kendall is part of our prison law team representing a number of clients before the Parole Board and at adjudications.

Ali Roodbari

Ali Roodbari

Prison Law, Solicitor (Nottingham)

Ali graduated from Nottingham Trent University and began working at The Johnson Partnership in September 2019 as a Call Centre Operative.

He joined the Business Law Department and also became an Accredited Police Station Representative in August 2020.

Ali commenced his training contract with the Firm and qualified as a solicitor in 2025.  Ali is currently working as part of the Prison Law Team in Nottingham.

Mikolaj Manysiak

Mikolaj joined The Johnson Partnership on the 1st October 2021 as a Police Station Co-Ordinator. Since then he has become a fully accredited Police Station Representative.

In July 2024 he completed his LPC at the Nottingham Law School.

Mikolaj is fluent in Polish and English.

Mikolaj is a solicitor and police station representative at our Nottingham Office.
